Entrepreneurship: Industry Leaders Inspire RMI Students

Students at Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) gathered for a conversation that went beyond theories and textbooks. The panel discussion, organized by Hult Prize RMI, brought together industry leaders from RMI, CECOS University, Precision Medical Lab, and IM Sciences to share knowledge on what it takes to turn an idea into a thriving business.

The discussion was less about clichés and more about the hard realities of entrepreneurship. Panelists spoke of resilience, attention to detail, and the importance of building networks. They urged that success is rarely instant—it requires leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate financial, social, and institutional challenges.

Dr. Faisal Khan, head of Precision Medical Lab, spoke candidly about the qualities that set successful entrepreneurs apart. “You have to explore yourself and stay on the positive side, believing that opportunities are always there,” he told students. “Pay attention to detail, develop leadership and organizational skills, and, most importantly, be trustworthy.”

The Hult Prize, a global platform for student entrepreneurs, has long championed startups that blend innovation with social impact. With mentorship, funding, and access to international investors, it has helped shape young visionaries into change-makers.

At RMI, the initiative is inspiring students to think beyond traditional career paths and take their ideas seriously. Among those attending the event were Shafique Ur Rehman, CEO of RMI; Sohaib Tanveer, vice president of CECOS University; Dr. Faisal Khan, head of Precision Medical Lab; Dr. Umair Wadood, head of the Department of Physiology at Rehman College of Dentistry; and Muhammad Faisal Khalid, assistant director of human resources at RMI.

For students, the message was clear: ideas alone are not enough. The real challenge is taking that first step—and having the persistence to keep going.

The organising team of the event include campus Director Muhammad Musa (from RCRS) and Deputy campus director Ahad Ali (from RMC).
